Video Games & Mindfulness
Mindfulness practices are beneficial for a host of reasons, from the physiological benefits of stress reduction to improving focus. Regular practice helps us see and realize those benefits, but it can be difficult for clients/people who need it to know where to start or get that regular practice. Videogames provide a powerful sensory experience and are a regular and motivating activity for many, so why not use them as a basis for some guided mindfulness activities?
Learning Objectives
1. Identifying and become comfortable with 3 basic types of mindfulness activities.
2. Selecting games that provide a good background for mindfulness activities.
3. Combining the basic activity scripts and games to create a guided video game mindfulness session.
